Enterprise Mobility 2023: Outlook and Key Trends

TSPs can use their expertise to help businesses get more value from their mobile deployments by aligning with these trends.

Companies worldwide are increasingly adopting cloud and mobility solutions to improve business processes. These technologies provide businesses with access to their applications, information, and communications wherever they work and have proven to result in a range of benefits and quick ROI. As a result, the global market for enterprise mobility, valued at USD 19.65 billion in 2019, is on track to exceed $150 billion by 2027.

Technology solutions providers (TSPs) can assist clients with proof of concept (POC) and pilots that show the time mobile solutions will save, how much productivity will increase, and the potential for higher revenues. However, those trials can also reveal hurdles businesses must overcome to get the most value from their enterprise mobility deployments. These five 2023 enterprise mobility trends reflect solutions that help optimize enterprise mobility.

New call-to-action

Enterprise Mobility Trends

  1. Wearables and Ergonomic Devices
Employees need to be able to carry and use mobile devices practically to get the most value from them. So, wearable devices are gaining in popularity and are changing many industries. For example, smart glasses and headsets give employees hands-free access to business applications and data. And ring, wrist, or glove scanners make capturing data as easy as pointing at a label or tag.

When you consult with a business on a new deployment, assess processes and recommend solutions that are the most ergonomic – and most likely to optimize operations.

  2. Transition to 5G Communications
There is no question that 5G has revolutionized mobile communications, but enterprises have yet to see its full impact. As 5G continues to mature, it will increase remote worker productivity. 5G’s speed and low latency will make communications more reliable. Furthermore, 5G can support 100 times more connected devices in the same area than 4G’s capabilities. 5G also gives solutions providers the ability to build more robust security, protecting business networks and data.

Help your clients plan ahead and make the most of 5G’s capabilities.

  3. AI-Based Chatbots
Enterprises often leverage artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots for customer support. However, they can also be helpful internally to streamline voice-directed work. For example, the chatbot can guide employees through warehouse picking or manufacturing assembly and seamlessly direct the employee from task to task with minimal downtime.

Educate your clients about AI-chatbot use cases that can help them improve operational efficiency.

  4. Augmented Reality (AR) for Navigation
AR navigation can provide field workers with more accurate directions than GPS, giving recommendations based on the environment, not just geographic coordinates. As a result, navigating becomes much quicker and easier. Furthermore, AR navigation updates reference points in real time, eliminating the confusion that following out-of-date directions creates.

Bluetooth low-energy beacons (BLE beacons) can provide exact directions inside warehouses or other facilities. Consider adding this technology to your portfolio, particularly if you have clients with field workers.

  5. MDM and EMM
TSPs must educate their clients and prospects that enterprise mobility solutions are more than deploying devices with the right features. Businesses also need a way to manage them.

The European Mobility Management Gap report from SOTI and Ovum found that about half of European businesses lack essential mobile device management (MDM), and fewer have enterprise mobility management (EMM) capabilities, including managing bring-your-own-device environments.

MDM and EMM implementation will become growing trends as enterprises look for ways to efficiently provision and update devices, manage security, and enforce mobile policies.

Businesses across Europe are driving trends that will help them get more value from their enterprise mobility deployments. Your clients will be able to see the potential benefits to their operations. However, they may lack the expertise necessary to develop the solutions that harness these technologies.

Your expertise in planning, piloting, and implementing these technologies will meet that demand and give you the opportunity for business growth in 2023.
